Wes oversees all operations at DataBridge Sites, as well as compliance and networking. He has been working in IP networking since 2000, which gives him a strong background in network operations that informs his engineering choices to ensure simple, supportable, and reliable solutions.
Before coming to ByteGrid, and then DataBridge Sites, he designed, implemented, and supported the international multi-terabit capacity network platform for Neustar’s SiteProtect (DoS mitigation) product. Prior to that he worked for Time Warner Cable (now Charter Communications) doing Core Network Architecture on a very high-bandwidth multiservice network. He was also heavily involved in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), which is the primary standards body for Internet protocols. He started his career at Sprint, which was at the time a Tier One Internet Service Provider offering IP transit and IPVPN services. His tenure at Sprint included several years in Operations before moving to engineering, where he led the deployment of the Cisco CRS-1 router and was heavily involved in the wired network backbone design for Sprint’s initial 4G wireless network infrastructure. He has been working to further IPv6 deployment and usage in every network he has supported since the very early testing phases (the 6bone) at Sprint.
